Emdeon and General Atlantic: Reinventing Healthcare Transaction Services
In 2006, General Atlantic acquired a majority ownership interest in Emdeon, a leading provider of revenue and payment cycle management solutions, connecting healthcare payers, providers and patients.
With GA's assistance, Emdeon completed strategic acquisitions, expanded its Board of Directors and management team, and extended its core product and service offering. In 2009, Emdeon completed an IPO on the New York Stock Exchange, achieving a market capitalization of $1.8 billion. GA sold its position in 2011.
