Genpact and General Atlantic:  The Largest Startup in India

GA co-negotiated and helped to capitalize the $800 million buyout of Genpact, General Electric’s captive business process outsourcing unit in early 2005, creating an independent business that quickly became the largest offshore firm of its kind in the world.

In August, 2007, Genpact went public on the New York Stock Exchange.  The firm, of which GA still owns nearly 30%, had a market capitalization of  $3 billion at its IPO.  Genpact has dramatically expanded its non-GE business and continues its rapid global growth with our assistance.
