GA's initial efforts in India focused on assisting our portfolio companies with expansion in this region. Our expertise in the outsourcing sector led us to evaluate investment opportunities in broader outsourcing models leveraging offshore economics. In addition, GA is focused on providing growth capital for business targeting the rising consumption of Indian population across industries, including financial services, healthcare and communications.
Since our first investment in Patni, GA has invested nearly $1 billion in ten companies in India.
