Blume 2000 to Manage Stores with Torex OSCAR-POS 4.5

BERLIN--Torex Retail Holdings Limited (TorexTM), the leading global provider of innovative, integrated technology solutions to the extended retail marketplace, announces Blume 2000 has taken the decision to migrate over 200 stores to the latest version of the POS and store management system, TorexTM OSCAR-POS 4.5. Among other benefits, this will greatly improve data communication between headquarters and the individual stores.

Blume 2000 is Germany's largest nationwide flower and plant chain and has been putting solutions from Torex to successful use in its 200 stores for many years. The company has now decided to migrate to the latest version of the POS and branch management system, Torex OSCAR-POS 4.5. The solution is used at the POS, in the back-office, and at the headquarters. The inbuilt head office processes of Torex OSCAR-POS are also leveraged, for example to process orders and perform goods transfers among stores. In addition, Blume 2000 uses the "Store Mail" feature that enables the head office to exchange messages with specific stores. The hardware deployed at Blume 2000 includes HP rp5000 systems with Torex keyboards, Torex displays and Epson printers. The migration to OSCAR-POS 4.5 will give Blume 2000 access to the functions of the latest version of Torex OSCAR-POS while still being able to use the tailored adaptations implemented previously to meet the company's specific needs. By migrating to Windows XP at the same time, data transfer - which in the past only supported ISDN - will be upgraded to mixed DSL-ISDN operation. Staff training requirements are minimal as the new version of Torex OSCAR-POS maintains the familiar look and feel.
