John D. Bernstein is a Managing Director at General Atlantic, a leading global growth equity firm. He is located in General Atlantic’s London office, where he focuses on growth investment initiatives in the broader European market.

Mr. Bernstein has been an active investor in the private equity industry in Europe since 1995. Prior to joining General Atlantic, he served as a partner at Advent International, where he led the European telecoms and technology investment practice. Before joining Advent, he served as a partner for five years at InterMatrix Ltd., a management and strategy consulting firm.

Mr. Bernstein holds an M.A. in economics and law from Downing College, Cambridge University, and is qualified as a barrister.
