Franchon M. Smithson is an Advisory Director at General Atlantic, a global growth equity firm, where he has worked since 1995. In his capacity as Advisory Director, Mr. Smithson advises GA's professional staff and portfolio companies in areas of financial and operational capabilities.

Mr. Smithson served as a Managing Director for General Atlantic from 1995 to 2008. During this time, he worked closely with GA's portfolio companies, assisting in capital markets activities, merger and acquisition processes and the development of best operating practices as well as managing numerous service provider relationships.

Prior to joining General Atlantic, Mr. Smithson was the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at LEGENT Corporation. Previously, he held numerous financial and operating roles at UCCEL Corporation, PepsiCo, and United Technologies Corporation.

Mr. Smithson received a BS degree from Butler University in 1973, and an MBA from Butler University in 1974.
