Tom Tinsley is a Managing Director at General Atlantic, where he has worked since 1999. In his capacity as a Managing Director, Mr. Tinsley provides specific expertise in strategy and global expansion, and is a director at two GA portfolio companies: Net 1 and Critical Path.  He also serves on the board of BMC Software.

Mr. Tinsley also serves on the Advisory Board of the Kellogg Institute for International Studies at the University of Notre Dame and on the board of Guidestar USA, Inc.

From 1995 to 1999, Mr. Tinsley served as CEO with Baan Company, NV. From 1978 to 1995 Mr. Tinsley was a Director at McKinsey & Company.

Mr. Tinsley received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Notre Dame in 1975 and an MBA in 1978 from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
