Jan Hammer is a Principal at General Atlantic, where he focuses on investments in the Business Services & Technology sector, and provides specific expertise in software, IT services and outsourcing. 

Mr. Hammer is an observer on the Board of Directors of Torex Retail.  In the past, he was involved in working with portfolio investments in CompuGROUP, iSOFT and Northgate Information Solutions, with a specific focus on executing numerous add-on M&A transactions by these companies.

Prior to joining General Atlantic, Mr. Hammer worked at Morgan Stanley from 1998 through 2003 as an Analyst and Associate in the M&A, TMT and Capital Markets divisions in London and New York.

Mr. Hammer joined General Atlantic in 2003, and works from the firm's London office.  He holds an MBA degree with Distinction from INSEAD, and is a graduate of Oxford University.  He currently supports the Prince's Trust as a volunteer business mentor, working with young people starting their own businesses.
