Doug Scherrer is a Vice President in General Atlantic's New York office, where he is part of the firm's Business Services sector team. He formerly was based in São Paulo, where he helped to start GA's Brazil office beginning in 2008 and participated in General Atlantic's investments in Grupo Qualicorp, Linx and Aceco TI. Prior to moving to São Paulo, Doug was based in Greenwich and was part of GA's Financial Services sector team, having helped to lead investments in GETCO and the Brazilian Mercantile and Futures Exchange (BM&F). In addition, he has supported a number of General Atlantic's portfolio companies, including NYSE Euronext, NYMEX, and RiskMetrics Group. Doug joined General Atlantic in 2005.

Prior to GA, Doug worked at the Boston Consulting Group in New York. While at BCG, he worked with clients in the pharmaceutical, consumer goods, and information services industries.

Doug graduated magna cum laude from Princeton University with a degree in Economics.
