Thomas J. Murphy is a Managing Director and the Chief Financial Officer at General Atlantic.  As CFO, Mr. Murphy is responsible for the internal Finance, Accounting and Tax groups and has shared oversight of firm administration with the COO.  Mr. Murphy also serves on GA's Capital Committee.

Prior to joining General Atlantic in 1994, Mr. Murphy was a Senior Accountant with Deloitte & Touche in the Financial Services division.

Mr. Murphy holds a BA in Economics from Colgate University, and an MBA in Finance from the Stern School of Business at New York University.
