Jim Rossman serves as a senior resource to General Atlantic’s global portfolio companies on strategic growth acceleration initiatives. He joined the firm in 2012 and serves on the board of directors of SessionM.
Jim brings a distinguished track record of more the two decades of leadership experience in the marketing and advertising industry, as an operating leader, client and new business champion, and industry advisor. Formerly President and Chief Operating Officer of AKQA, a leading digital strategy consultancy, Jim was responsible for management of the firm’s global client relationships, overseeing service delivery, new business development, and firm-wide resource management. In serving clients, selling business, and enhancing all aspects of the firm’s operations, he played a critical role in the planning, decision making, and successful execution of AKQA's overall strategic plan.
Earlier in his career, Jim served as Chief Operating Officer of Digitas, with responsibility for the firm’s strategic investment planning, resourcing, and operating activities. In addition, Jim managed the firm’s new business efforts, as well as global client relationships with General Motors and American Express. Prior to Digitas, Jim held various senior management roles at Young & Rubicam and its global response-marketing network, Wunderman.
Jim earned a BA in Economics from Trinity College and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, where he concentrated in Marketing and Strategy. He also sits on the board of public software company Tremor Video, and is a standing member of the Digital Task Force for WNYC (New York Public Radio).
