Preston McKenzie joined General Atlantic in 2017 and supports the firm’s active value-added approach to partnering with technology companies by providing strategic counsel and assistance to GA and to its portfolio companies. He is based in GA’s New York office. Mr. McKenzie serves on the boards of Ethisphere, Mi9 Retail, and NEWSCYCLE.
Mr. McKenzie most recently served as the Chief Executive Officer of NEWSCYCLE Solutions, a leading global provider of technology solutions to the media industry. Under his leadership, NEWSCYCLE grew recurring revenues and increased EBITDA. Prior to NEWSCYCLE, Mr. McKenzie was the Chief Executive Officer of MicroEdge, the leading grants management software company in North America. At MicroEdge, Mr. McKenzie and his team were able to execute on a strategy that included dynamic revenue growth via organic product development, targeted acquisitions and increased sales effectiveness.
Prior to his time as a CEO, Mr. McKenzie held a number of senior roles with what is now Thomson Reuters; leading in efforts to grow Westlaw, Findlaw and in his last role as the vice president/general manager of the Thomson Business Development division. Prior to this, Mr. McKenzie spent ten years with Landmark Communications in a variety of leadership and business development roles.
Mr. McKenzie received a BA in Journalism/Advertising from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, and his MBA from the University of Minnesota where he graduated with honors.
