Wakefern Food Corporation Selects S1 Corporation's Postilion for POS Transaction Processing

S1 Corporation , the leading provider of customer-facing software solutions for financial services, today announced that Wakefern Food Corporation has installed its industry-leading Postilion software to provide POS payment authorization and transaction switching for over 200 ShopRite stores in five states.

Operating continuously since 1946, Wakefern Food Corporation is the distribution arm of ShopRite, which serves four million customers each week with the finest grocery, frozen, perishables, and general merchandise products. Wakefern, known for its commitment to offering customers the highest quality products at an exceptional value, has implemented the Postilion Realtime system to handle POS payment authorization processing for customer transactions originated at more than 4,000 POS devices. Postilion eSocket.POS is used for stand-in authorization capability as well as to provide the POS terminal interface without the need to modify existing POS software.

The Postilion solution runs in a Microsoft Windows environment and provides Wakefern with a highly scalable and open architecture that permits easy implementation of new products to be delivered at the POS. The Wakefern implementation includes multiple interfaces to FDMS, eFunds, Fiserv, and various other systems. Detailed reporting as well as automated settlement and reconciliation for all networks and interfaces are handled by the Postilion Office component of the system.
