Mark Garrett Joins General Atlantic as Special Advisor

General Atlantic, a leading global growth equity firm, announced today that Mark Garrett, former Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Adobe Systems, Inc., has joined the firm as a Special Advisor. Mr. Garrett will leverage his enterprise and consumer technology expertise to provide strategic support and advice to the firm’s investment teams and portfolio companies in the Technology sector.

Most recently, Mr. Garrett served as EVP and CFO of Adobe, a role he held for 11 years. Under his guidance, Adobe completed the fastest transition to a cloud-based subscription model among companies in the software industry. Prior to Adobe, he served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in the Software Group of EMC Corporation. Mark also served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Documentum before it was acquired by EMC. In 2015, the Silicon Valley Business Journal named him “Public Company CFO of the Year.” In 2017, Institutional Investor magazine ranked him No. 1 in the Best Software CFO category by sell-side analysts. Mr. Garrett currently serves on the board of directors at Cisco, GoDaddy Inc., Pure Storage, Inc., and Snowflake. He received his M.B.A. in Organizational Behavior from Marist College and B.S. in Accounting and Marketing from Boston University.
