General Atlantic announces close of further investment into Odoo, acquiring additional stake from Wallonie Entreprendre
Belgium, 16 January 2026 – General Atlantic, a leading growth investor, today announced the close of its follow-on investment in Odoo SA (or “the Company”), a leading provider of open-source integrated business software applications for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). As part of this transaction, which valued Odoo at €7bn, General Atlantic acquired an additional minority stake in Odoo from Wallonie Entreprendre, the Walloon region’s investment arm.
Founded in 2002 by CEO Fabien Pinckaers, Odoo SA is a leading provider of open-source integrated business software applications for micro and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Odoo’s “open core” philosophy has enabled community developers to create nearly 40,000 software applications for business functions including Finance, Sales, HR and Marketing, making it one of the largest business application stores in the world. Odoo allows SMEs to consolidate their software vendors into one integrated suite at an affordable price point.
General Atlantic initially invested in Odoo in 2023, recognizing the breadth of the Company’s integrated product suite, the strength of its open-source developer ecosystem, and the significant global market across customer sizes and geographies. Since its initial investment, General Atlantic has partnered with Odoo to scale its functions, supported the Company in professionalizing its go-to-market approach, and helped focus the drive towards continued international expansion. Today, Odoo is growing profitably in 180 countries, with the top 15 of these all growing at more than 30% year-on-year and reaching over 170,000 paying customers across five continents.
The Company’s latest release, Odoo 19, has further accelerated global adoption across diverse industries by introducing natively integrated AI features and expanding its suite of business applications. These innovations continue to make Odoo a preferred choice for SMEs seeking a fully integrated, scalable platform to manage their operations efficiently.
Andrea Calabro, Principal at General Atlantic in EMEA, commented: “Odoo is one of the most exciting software vendors worldwide; it is rare to see this level of growth, at scale, across virtually all countries in the world. The open-source, single-code, single-database platform uniquely positions Odoo to leverage AI and deliver on its mission to provide world-class business software. The business-in-a-box product resonates globally across a diverse, uncorrelated set of geographies, customer profiles, and use cases. We’re proud to deepen our partnership with Fabien and his team.”
“We are pleased to further strengthen our partnership with General Atlantic, initiated in 2023. After this transaction, Wallonie Entreprendre retains a 3% equity stake in Odoo, and we continue to see substantial growth potential over the coming years,” said Damien Lourtie, CFO of Wallonie Entreprendre and member of the Odoo SA Board of Directors.
