Melis Kahya Akar recognized in Private Equity News’ Twenty Trailblazing Women 2026 List

Melis Kahya Akar, Managing Director and Head of Consumer EMEA at General Atlantic, has been recognized in Private Equity News’ Twenty Trailblazing Women 2026 list for the third consecutive year. 

Melis leads General Atlantic’s consumer investments across EMEA, as well as its activity in Turkey. Over the past two years, she has spearheaded investments including global fragrance house KAYALI and direct-to-consumer eyewear retailer eyewa. 

She currently serves on several boards including Butternut Box, Gymshark, and Joe & the Juice.
