Ahmad Khokher Named to PEN’s Most Influential Private Equity General Counsels 2026

Ahmad Khokher, Senior Vice President and Transactions Counsel at General Atlantic, has been named to Private Equity News’ inaugural Most Influential Private Equity General Counsels list. 

Based in London, Ahmad joined General Atlantic in 2021 and advises on portfolio investments and liquidity transactions across EMEA, as well as energy transition investments globally through BeyondNetZero. His responsibilities include advising approximately 55 portfolio companies on governance, follow-on investments, and refinancings. 

The recognition highlights his involvement in the take-private of Learning Technologies Group and the tender offer for Esker alongside Bridgepoint. The profile also notes his mentorship of junior professionals and involvement with the Stephen Lawrence Scholarship scheme, which seeks to broaden access to careers in law and financial services. 

Private Equity News’ nomination criteria sought in-house legal professionals whose responsibilities include managing legal teams, advising on significant or innovative transactions, supporting substantial fundraising, and addressing compliance matters within their firms and portfolio companies. 

Eligible candidates were required to work at private equity firms or private markets firms with private equity as a core offering. Counsel at private equity fund-of-funds firms were also eligible for consideration.
