Samir Assaf

Samir Assaf is a Senior Advisor and Chairman of MENA at General Atlantic. Samir provides strategic support and advice to the firm’s investment teams and portfolio companies across the Middle East and Northern Africa. Samir has extensive global financial services experience, having spent nearly three decades in leadership roles at HSBC, including his current roles of Chairman of the Board, MENAT, HSBC Middle East Holdings, and as an advisor to the Group Chairman and Group CEO. Samir was formerly CEO of HSBC Global Banking & Markets and Chairman of Corporate and Institutional Banking.
