Graves Tompkins
Chief Operating Officer
Graves Tompkins is the Chief Operating Officer of General Atlantic. He serves on the firm’s Executive Committee, as well as the Investment Committee for GA Credit. Before assuming the COO role, Graves spent more than a decade leading General Atlantic’s Capital Partnering efforts. Prior to that, he was a member of the firm’s Healthcare and Financial Services sector teams.
Before joining General Atlantic in 2008, Graves worked in the Merchant Banking division at Goldman Sachs, where he focused on principal investments across a broad range of sectors, and as a management consultant at McKinsey & Company. Graves is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, a Young Global Leader at the World Economic Forum, a member of the Leadership Council at Harvard’s Center for Public Leadership, and he was previously a David Rockefeller Fellow through the New York City Partnership.
