General Atlantic portfolio companies, Vast Data and Runway, were named to CNBC’s 2025 Disruptor 50 list, which recognizes private companies leveraging breakthrough technologies to meet today’s economic and consumer challenges.
Now in its thirteenth year, the Disruptor 50 highlights the businesses that remain resilient and forward-thinking amid continued market volatility and the accelerating pace of technological change. From artificial intelligence to health care and autonomous transportation, this year’s honorees reflect the broad impact of innovation across sectors.
Vast Data, a unified data platform powering AI infrastructure, and Runway, a leader in generative AI tools for creatives, were among the 50 companies selected for their role in advancing innovation and transforming their industries.
To curate the list, CNBC’s editorial team and advisory boards reviewed nominations submitted through an application process, evaluating companies based on a blend of quantitative and qualitative criteria. Eligible companies were privately held, independently owned, and founded after Jan. 1, 2010. Selections emphasized scalability, user growth, and the potential to disrupt established markets.
