Bill Ford is General Atlantic’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, with three decades of experience investing in and helping build leading growth companies, including IHS Markit, e*Trade, Priceline, and First Republic Bank. Bill joined General Atlantic in 1991 and became CEO in 2007. He serves as Chairman of the firm’s Management Committee and is a member of the Investment, Portfolio, and Operating Committees. Under Bill’s leadership, General Atlantic has expanded its global presence, increased its capital base, and deepened its capabilities to identify and partner with high-potential growth companies across multiple business sectors and geographies.

Steven A. Denning is Chairman Emeritus of General Atlantic and has been part of the firm since its founding in 1980. As the second investment professional at the firm, Steve helped build General Atlantic with a singular vision of supporting entrepreneurs as they work to grow their businesses. From the outset, his mission has been to partner with strong growth companies led by exceptional management teams to help their organizations become market leaders. For over three decades, Steve has helped General Atlantic become a leading global growth investment firm, today with 14 offices around the world. Steve also served on the Board of Trustees of Stanford University from 2004 to 2017, including as its Chairman from 2012 to 2017. Before joining General Atlantic, Steve worked at McKinsey & Company and served for six years in the U.S. Navy.

Since joining the firm in 2004, Gabriel has helped expand the firm’s investment focus across the greater European region to include Eastern Europe and the Middle East. He focuses on investments in the Financial Services and Technology sectors. Before joining General Atlantic, Gabriel worked in the telecoms, media & technology division at Merrill Lynch in London and New York.

Martín Escobari is Co-President, Managing Director and Head of General Atlantic’s business in Latin America. Martín is Chairman of the firm’s Investment Committee and also serves on the Management and Portfolio Committees.
Before joining General Atlantic in 2012, Martín was a Managing Director at Advent International where he focused on the financial services sector. Prior to that, he was Co-Founder and CFO of Submarino.com, a leading Brazilian online retailer that went public on the Bovespa and was sold to Lojas Americanas in 2006. Martin started his career as a management consultant at The Boston Consulting Group.

In addition to the companies mentioned below, Anton has led General Atlantic’s investments in leading technology companies such as Alibaba, CrowdStrike, Facebook, Slack and Snapchat and co-led investments in Adyen and Bytedance. Anton has been named to the Forbes Midas List of top investors each year from 2014 to 2022. Before joining General Atlantic in 1998, Anton was an investment banker at Morgan Stanley where he focused on the technology sector.

Lance Uggla is the CEO of BeyondNetZero, General Atlantic’s climate growth equity venture focused on supporting and scaling high-growth companies that are developing innovative solutions seeking to meet and exceed net zero emissions targets. Before joining General Atlantic in 2022, Lance was Chairman and CEO at IHS Markit, the global information company, prior to its $44 billion merger with S&P Global. Lance founded Markit in 2003, took it public in 2014 and co-led its merger of equals with IHS in 2016. Earlier in his career, he held executive roles at both Toronto Dominion Bank and The Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce.

Anish Batlaw is a Managing Director at General Atlantic and leads the firm’s Human Capital efforts (people, pay, and performance) in support of its global portfolio companies. His responsibilities include development of General Atlantic’s talent network, assessment and development of management teams, executive compensation, governance structures, and providing strategic Human Capital counsel to the firm and its portfolio companies.
Prior to joining General Atlantic in 2015, Anish worked at TPG Capital as an Operating Partner and Head of Human Capital for Asia. Prior to TPG, he was with Novartis in various leadership positions, including VP & Head of HR for Pharmaceuticals, U.S., and Europe, and as Head of Corporate Talent Management. He also worked at Microsoft as General Manager of HR in Redmond, Washington. Early in his career, Anish worked at PepsiCo, in various markets such as the U.S., India, China, and Vietnam.

Prior to Element, he was a Partner at Advent International and helped co-manage a dedicated fund focused on minority growth equity transactions into companies focused on sustainability. He also worked at EnerTech Capital, a venture capital fund focused on alternative energy technology investing.

Before joining General Atlantic in 2011, David worked at McKinsey & Company where he served clients in the High Tech, Private Equity, and Industrial sectors as a member of the Marketing and Sales practice. Previously, he served as a Captain in the United States Army.

Previously, he was an Investment Banking Analyst at UBS in the Latin American group based in Mexico City. Luis is a Young Global Leader at the World Economic Forum, and is a member of the Young Presidents’ Organization. He also formerly served as an Adjunct Professor at Universidad Iberoamericana.
