Bill Ford is General Atlantic’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, with three decades of experience investing in and helping build leading growth companies, including IHS Markit, e*Trade, Priceline, and First Republic Bank. Bill joined General Atlantic in 1991 and became CEO in 2007. He serves as Chairman of the firm’s Management Committee and is a member of the Investment and Operating Committees. Under Bill’s leadership, General Atlantic has expanded its global presence, increased its capital base, and deepened its capabilities to identify and partner with high-potential growth companies across multiple business sectors and geographies.

He is also a member of the firm’s Management, Investment and Portfolio Committees. Since joining the firm in 2004, Gabriel has helped expand the firm’s investment focus across the greater European region to include Eastern Europe and the Middle East. He focuses on investments in the Financial Services and Technology sectors. Before joining General Atlantic, Gabriel worked in the telecoms, media & technology division at Merrill Lynch in London and New York.

Martín Escobari is Head of Global Growth Equity, Co-President, Managing Director and Head of General Atlantic’s business in Latin America. Martín is Chairman of the firm’s Investment Committee and also serves on the Management and Portfolio Committees.
Before joining General Atlantic in 2012, Martín was a Managing Director at Advent International where he focused on the financial services sector. Prior to that, he was Co-Founder and CFO of Submarino.com, a leading Brazilian online retailer that went public on the Bovespa and was sold to Lojas Americanas in 2006. Martin started his career as a management consultant at The Boston Consulting Group.

Anton Levy is the Chairman of Global Technology, Co-President and Managing Director at General Atlantic. Anton also serves on the firm’s Management and Investment Committees. In addition to the companies mentioned below, Anton has led General Atlantic’s investments in leading technology companies such as Alibaba, CrowdStrike, Facebook, Slack and Snapchat and co-led investments in Adyen and Bytedance. Anton has been named to the Forbes Midas List of top investors each year from 2014 to 2023. Before joining General Atlantic in 1998, Anton was an investment banker at Morgan Stanley where he focused on the technology sector.

Sandeep Naik is a Managing Director and Head of General Atlantic’s business in India & Southeast Asia. He is also a member of the firm’s Management Committee. Before joining General Atlantic in 2012, Sandeep served as a Partner and Co-Head of India for Apax, leading investments in the healthcare, financial and business services and retail and consumer sectors. Earlier in his career, he was Global Marketing Manager at Medtronic Inc., a scientist at Mayo Clinic, and a management consultant with McKinsey & Company. He is also the Co-Founder of InfraScan Inc., a medical device business focused on detecting bleeding inside the brain using a handheld device. Sandeep was selected as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum and has served on the Global Agenda Council of New Order of Economic Thinking.

Tripp Smith is the Global Head of GA Credit and Managing Director at General Atlantic. Prior to joining GA, Tripp founded Iron Park Capital (“IPC”) in 2019 and served as Chief Executive Officer. Prior to founding IPC, Tripp was a Co-Founder of GSO Capital Partners (Blackstone Credit) (“GSO”) and a Senior Managing Director of The Blackstone Group. Before joining GSO, Tripp had various leadership roles within Credit Suisse – Global Head of the Capital Markets Group, Global Co-Head of the Leveraged Finance Group. Tripp joined Credit Suisse First Boston (CSFB) in November 2000 when it acquired DLJ, where he was Global Head of High Yield Capital Markets. Prior to joining DLJ, he worked for Smith Barney and Drexel Burnham Lambert. Tripp earned a BBA in accounting from the University of Notre Dame. Additionally, Tripp is Co-Chair of the Wall Street Leadership Committee, a member of the Campaign Cabinet, and a member of the Student Athlete Advisory Council at the University of Notre Dame. He is also a member of the Board of the Delbarton School in Morristown, NJ and West Ham United F.C. in London, England.

Graves Tompkins is the Chief Operating Officer and a Managing Director at General Atlantic. He serves on the firm’s Management, and Capital Committees, as well as the Investment Committee for GA Credit. Previously, he was a member of the firm’s Healthcare and Financial Services sector teams.
Prior to joining General Atlantic in 2008, Graves worked in the Merchant Banking division at Goldman Sachs, where he focused on principal investments across a broad range of sectors, and as a management consultant at McKinsey & Company. Graves is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, a Young Global Leader at the World Economic Forum, a member of the Leadership Council at Harvard’s Center for Public Leadership, and he was previously a David Rockefeller Fellow through the New York City Partnership.

Lance Uggla is co-founder of BeyondNetZero, General Atlantic’s first climate growth equity fund focused on supporting and scaling high-growth companies that are developing innovative solutions seeking to meet and exceed net zero emissions targets. Before joining General Atlantic in 2022, Lance was Chairman and CEO at IHS Markit, the global information company, prior to its $44 billion merger with S&P Global. Lance founded Markit in 2003, took it public in 2014 and co-led its merger of equals with IHS in 2016. Earlier in his career, he held executive roles at both Toronto Dominion Bank and The Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce.

Before joining the firm in 2016, Eric was a Global Partner and Managing Director at The Carlyle Group from 2006 to 2016 where he focused on investments in Asia. Previously, he was Vice President of Mergers and Acquisitions at Credit Suisse in Hong Kong, and prior to that, he was a Vice President in the Investment Banking division at China International Capital Corporation Limited in Beijing.
